Slickklando – Official Artist Bio

Slickklando is a New Jersey-born artist blending melodic rap, soul, and storytelling into emotionally resonant music that feels both personal and universal. With early performances at the Bryce Jordan Center (opening for NLE Choppa and Lil Yachty) and a growing catalog of introspective records, Slickklando is quickly becoming one of the East Coast’s most promising new voices. His breakout single “Deep End” has become a career-defining moment—earning over 1.1 million views on TikTok and 56,000+ YouTube views on the official video, a glowing live review from DJ Drewski, and a co-sign from 42 CEO, a major tastemaker in the underground and streaming scene. The track’s emotional honesty and melodic depth have been praised across top indie outlets including Sheen Magazine, The Grind Magazine, IAHHM, Blades and Bars, The DMV Daily, and Global Grind Music. These moments are all setting the stage for his upcoming debut EP, Heartbreak University—a 7-track project that explores heartbreak, distractions, healing, and stepping into your next chapter with intention. It’s a coming-of-age soundtrack for anyone navigating emotional growth, told with the rawness and range that have become Slickklando’s trademark. Beyond the studio, Lando’s performance presence is expanding. He’s delivered standout sessions on Mean 16 Freestyles, The Mochi Room, and The After Hours Show. Raised on gospel and soul but drawn to the energy of hip-hop, Slickklando’s music reflects the convergence of his influences—artists like Al Green, Nas, Drake, and The Beatles. What sets him apart is his ability to turn personal experience into shared emotion. “When someone discovers SlickkLando for the first time,” he says,“I want them to walk away in a better mood than when they started listening. I want them to feel like they already know me—like they’ve been through something similar and can relate to what I’m saying. That connection means everything. ”With vulnerability as his superpower and momentum on his side, Slickklando is not just rising—he’s building a sound and story that listeners can grow with.
